If you’ve ever had an impression taken of your mouth, you know it can be an uncomfortable experience. Many people with a sensitive gag reflex find this method of taking impressions absolutely untenable. Moreover, the impressions obtained from these traditional methods are simply not the most accurate.
At Carr Orthodontics, we can take a digital scan of your mouth with the iTero Intraoral Scanner. This is an extremely precise picture of your mouth that allows us to see your gums, teeth, and other oral structures.

I-CAT 3D X-Ray
Because of our commitment to you, we now use the i-CAT FLX 3D system, which enables us to take detailed three-dimensional pictures of your mouth. You’ll be exposed to far less radiation than with traditional two-dimensional orthodontic radiographs.
We’re excited about this technology because we know it will contribute to your safety and comfort. It takes less than five seconds to complete a scan. This means we don’t need to take several images, and you spend less time sitting in front of an x-ray machine.
Finally, because of its highly accurate images, this technology means we give you a more accurate diagnosis. We’re able to better understand what’s going on with your teeth, jaw, and other oral structures.
